We got tickets on Living Social, at $55 for VIP entrance to the event. Let me tell you, it was totally worth it!! At check-in, we were given a wristband with 10 detachable numbers. Each number corresponded with one food truck, where you could trade your number in for one of three dishes they were serving (technically one of the three offerings were meant for children, but at some trucks those seemed like the most appetizing options). So $55 divided by 10 = about $5.50 a truck, which is probably less than you would spend for a dish anyway. Add to that the PGA's food truck, which had unlimited servings of mac and cheese and Bear Claw ice cream cones (which was one of my favorite things of the day!). And a Kuerig truck that gave you unlimited iced teas and coffees! Plus, since we were VIP, we had access to the VIP tent which offered unlimited pours of alcoholic beverages and sparkling waters - it was all definitely worth the price of admission. It wasn't too crazy packed, and even though it was a bit of an extravagant expense, in the end we deemed it well worth it!

What a hot event! Literally :) Of course, I was there to pig out and see what they had in store. 10 food trucks got together to give the customers what they do best. All of the food I had was fantastic. When we got there around noon, it was starting to get hot and we were ready to chow down on some food. Thanks to Yelp and Blue for the tickets (YAY!). We stopped by to say hi to Ashley at the tent and we were off to start the adventure. There was a VIP tent for an additional charge that offered drinks, but we didn't go there. Our wristbands had detachable numbers for us to redeem at each food truck to get the food item we wanted. The numbers were collected by the JROTC members and it was very organized. Most of the trucks were quick to serve the food and the people working on those trucks were deserve a standing ovation for cooking for all of us in the scorching weather today. It was nice to sit down and eat the food in the shade while enjoying the breeze as well. Gotta love South Florida! Here were some of my favorites: Keurig - Strawberry pomegranate! The drinks kept me hydrated throughout the entire time. I probably would have passed out if it wasn't for them. BC Tacos - BBQ pulled pork taco topped with coleslaw and corn and the chicken ceasar taco. Che Grill - BBQ pork empanada and Choripan (Argentinean sausage sandwich) Cheesezilla - Steak and cheese sandwich and the classic grilled cheese with white and yellow American mac/cheese InspirAsian - Fierce Bulgogi Chicken (savory pan fried chicken breasts marinated with a Korean BBQ sauce on top of lettuce, cucumber, and carrots dressed with teriyaki sauce Parabas Grill - Green Chile Cheese Steak Tacos (thin sliced ribeye steak, caramelized onions, chiles, and white cheese The car show was neat. I'm not a big car freak, but it was pretty cool to see all the cars on display and to vote on the best custom car. The new black and red Corvette got my eyes and my vote. They even had a military helicopter to check out as well. I'm glad my husband and I was able to attend this event to pig out and to have a great time. Ah, we were about to burst on the way out and are still stuffed from all of the delicious comfort food. Hell yea!

That was some afternoon! This was a great event, in all respects. #1 - It was very well organized. We got there about an hour in. While I won't say that there was "plenty" of parking, there was adequate parking that was close enough to the venue to not need a canteen and tent. There were not a ton of people in line and the ones that were, were handled quickly and efficiently. We picked up our tickets and headed onward. The trucks were spaced out enough that you weren't crowded and most of them were in a shady area, rather than all sitting in the blazing sun. There were quite a few tables around, but we could never find a good place to sit in the shade. People tended to find a table and just sit there for the afternoon. #2 - The classic car show. This was really cool. I don't have a big interest in cars, but it was truly fun to see some of the ones on display. My daughter got to see a real Model T with the crank engine. You could vote for your favorite and my vote went to the classic Woody! This was such a cool car! I've seen replicas, but I don't think I've ever seen the real thing before. This one had gorgeous curly maple inlay along with a dark wood (I think maybe walnut), and a perfectly matched surfboard perched on top. I'm pretty sure the Beach Boys were playing in my head. I would so LOVE to be able to bring this car home! I wish they had been spaced a little bit apart, so I could have gotten good pics, but they were all packed in fairly tight. There was also a military helicopter. Looking inside was sort of a surreal experience, thinking about all the young men who have flown into war zones in this cramped space, just to protect the rest of us. #3 - The VIP tent. This was a spacious area and provided a nice respite from the heat. There were plenty of wines and beers to taste, along with some hard liquors and sodas. Something for everyone. I tried a spiced whiskey that was really good, and I'm not a big fan of whiskey. It was great to be able to pop in and sample anything we wanted, whenever we wanted it. #4 - The FOOD! Oh my! What can I say?? There were 10 food trucks and we got a sample from each. I use the term "sample" loosely, as it could be anything from a plate of salad to a couple of small skewers. We ate our way through all ten food trucks. Yes, we sacrificed ourselves for 2 1/2 hours of carefully paced eating. While nearly everything we tried was good, there were some that were definitely better. "Da Bacon Beast" from Burger Shack was a nearly perfect slider. The flavor was everything you could want in a burger; juicy, perfectly seasoned, a nice amount of bacon flavor. It was a bit underdone for me, but that's just a taste thing. My food truck favorite was the Choripan from Che Grill. This wonderful Argentine sausage sandwich was goodness on a bun. The garlicky sausage and flavorful bread needed nothing for improvement. Oddly, my best bite of the day went to Fresh Market! They didn't have a truck, but were serving an amazing meatball sandwich from a small tent. I forgot to write down the description, but I believe it was a Korean meatball with a Siracha slaw on top. It was heaven on a bun! All in all, it was a terrific event. I hope we'll get to go back next year!

What an interesting event! Finding parking was very easy and hassle-free; my sister and I entered the event and went to Will Call for our wristbands. After some confusion was cleared, we made our way around the awesome cars and tried to decide where to eat first. First stop was finding beverages, as it was SO horribly hot out. The event wasn't thought-out well enough to include an easily accessible ATM inside of the event grounds; we were told to exit the event and make our way to the interior of PGA National Resort. We paid the $4 ATM fee to access our cash, then walked back over to buy a few drinks. (Yes, cash-only for drinks!) Without much shade covering the trucks, we were forced to stand in the heat to wait for food. A few lines we had to exit, as standing around for 10 minutes to wait for a grilled cheese just wasn't worth the heat stroke. Many of the vendors were top-notch when it came to timing and friendliness; the Armed Forces were standing by, taking the little numbers off of your wristband and watching the lines carefully. (Seriously, there were Army, Marine, and Navy forces standing next to the trucks. Nice folks!) The food choices were abundant and we became quickly full. I think we spent close to an hour and a half at the event and honestly, it was enjoyable, despite the heat. Note: Next time, you should include RECYCLING bins for all of the bottles. Plus, include an outdoor ATM of some sort - I'm sure you would have made much more money if it was easily accessible.

I love how many events the PGA resort has been hosting lately... Their latest was the Pig Out Gourmet Food Truck, where 10 food trucks gathered on the Resort's grounds for us to taste what they do best. We got there around noon, really hot day but so grateful it wasn't raining. If you got VIP tickets you were allowed in the Heineken tent with misters, and shade from the sun. Or, you could buy your way in for $15 extra. We didn't, instead after walking a bit, we found a table with a little shade and parked there. We just took turns going to the trucks and enjoyed a slight breeze from time to time. When you got in, they gave you a wrist band with detachable numbers. Each food truck was numbered to match those on the wristband. Very smart, to keep track of who had tasted their food already. The lines were very organized, the tickets were collected by JROTC members who were all very polite. Everyone working the food trucks was very friendly and, for the most part, we're very quick to serve the food. Here's what we had: Truck 1 - IL Florentino Small Potatoes Gnocchetti with traditional Italian Bolognese Sauce. I love gnocchi so was very happy with this one, off to a good start! I give this one a Bronze medal (as in Third Place). Why bronze, because I did not love the Bolognese sauce. Truck 2 - Flour Power BBQ Pulled pork sandwich. The pork was supposedly slow roasted in dark beer with onions and garlic but unfortunately their meet was bland and flavorless. Truck 3 - Crazydilla Cubadilla - it's like a Cuban sandwich but in a crispy organic tortilla, with a mustard aioli drizzled on top. This was my favorite of the day! Gold Medal! It was exactly what a Cuban sandwich should be but replacement of the bread with the tortilla made it a bit lighter which I liked a lot. Truck 4 - Philly Grill Philly Cheesetake. The bread was the only good thing about this one. The meat had no flavor, almost no cheese on mine, and the peppers were too sweet, which was the only thing I tasted in each bite. Truck 5 - Inspir-Asian Gluten free chicken, glazed with sweet chili sauce, jasmin rice, and broccoli florets. This got the Silver Medal. Even though the rice had very little flavor, the chicken was delicious and I loved the fact that they added the freshness of the broccoli, helping break out all the heavy food we had yet to try. Plus they had the prettiest presentation of all. Truck 6 - Burger Shack Burger topped with smoked bacon, onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, to ago, guacamole, jalapeño, and chipotle mayo. We had to wait 30 minutes for this one... I appreciate the "made to order" but when we took a bite we were all dissapointed. There was no guacamole, no heat, and some of the burgers were overcooked and dry. Truck 7 - Lobsta Rollin This was a no show so, really only 9 trucks... That's what we thought until one of the event employees told us about 3 other food trucks, we could try without the numbers. Good job to the PGA and the vent staff for compensating for this one not showing up, and good job for them advertising it everyone. Truck 8 - Mojo on the Go Pork Tacos topped with BBQ sauce and chipotle slaw. This was good. Meat was very well seasoned, tender but next time I will ask for less BBQ sauce. It was too much and it overpowered the taste of the already beautifully cooked meat. Truck 9 - international Classic Cuisine Gravlax Bouchée - Norwegian cured salmon with cream cheese, capers & dill, in a a baked puff pastry. Presentation was very nice but they went overboard with the dill. It was overwhelming and made it almost impossible to enjoy the dish. Truck 10 - Slow Food Truck Braised short beef rib pulled off the bone with grilled queso fresco, topped with fresh (Florida) Arugula and crispy shallots, on a potato roll. This one shares the Bronze Medal with IL Florentino. The queso Fresco and Arugula work magic on this sandwich. Plus the fact that the meat is so tender wins them points. As I said, we did not buy the extra tickets for the Heineken tent but were able to buy beer, wine, and/ or water from another tent. And once we were done we got to look at the cars on display... A Bentley coupe (that is my "if you win the lotto" car, after a 1974 restored Karman Ghia), an Audi, and some other new and classics but, the one that really caught my attention was "Black Beauty", a 1966 Corvette... Beautiful! These events are a great way to spend the day with friends and/ of family and do something out of the ordinary, get away from the routine. I'll keep an eye for more.

I love PGA resort, and this time I enjoyed some of the grounds for the Pig Out Food Truck and Car Show. I had no idea what to expect. This event took place in a parking lot on the left of PGA Resort, and a hot day in FL. I arrived about an hour late (which turned out perfect!), got my YELP reserved tickets I WON!! Yay thanks Yelp, and Blue! They put a wristband with snap-off tickets to hand to the trucks for food. I made my way through the parking lot starving telling my Fiancé "okay now we're going to truck number 1 and make our way down the list", um didn't go as planned. I got distracted from the cars, and Yelp booth, and Hot Sauce, and Cars... Such Fun! A live band playing on a stage and I love Live music, so the air is filled with good vibes. Everyone eating, some drinking, everyone sweating...drooling over the cars. Wishing I was in the VIP tent cause they had those mist fans, but then again those people looked like they just went in there to sit down and stay, so they were missing out on the fun anyways! Truck 1- Il Fiorentino : they served Small Potatoes Gnocchetti with Italian bolognese sauce..um I had 2 bites and in the Garbage! Eww it was bad , the sauce tasted straight out of a can! Truck 2- Flour Power : this funky Hippy Truck served up a BBQ Pulled pork sandwich. The bun was big and Dry. The pork was supposed to be slow roasted in dark beer with onions and garlic but was dry and tasteless, the raw crunchy was good. Truck 3 - Crazydilla : gladly handed us out their Cubadilla . this was their take on a Cuban sandwich, roasted Pork, Serrano Ham, Swiss cheese but in a crispy organic tortilla, with a garlic mustard aioli drizzled on top. YES!! This was tasty I loved the pickle inside, the flavours all complimented each other perfectly. ***One of my Fav Trucks Ide say #3 on my list** Truck 4- Philly Grill: this truck served us The Philly cheese steak. It had a lot of onions, mushrooms, and peppers, and not much meat. The sauce was not desirable, the peppers -the marinated ones were sweet out of a Jar..wrong! Hardly any cheese..this sandwich had a thumbs down and I threw it out after eating the small bits of meat. Truck 5 - Inspir-Asian: Friendly staff served up their Gluten free chicken, glazed with sweet chili sauce, jasmin rice, steamed broccoli florets, and crispy rice noodles on top wi an edible orchid flower, served on a nice Black Plastic plate. They efficiently were able to serve up their dish with a smile and with a beautiful presentation. The chicken was yummy, tasty, and the broccoli was steamed perfectly! That is hard to do serving so many people and in a truck! Props to Inspir-Asian! **I Give them #2 in the Best I tried that day** Truck 6 - Burger Shack: This food truck took a loooong time to serve up the burger. It was waaayyyyy overdone! Pretty much burnt and salty too! The combination of smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, and chipotle mayo. would've been great, but with the meat being dry and salty, and dry bun..makes this Burger SAD. These guys need to get their act together instead of making a Burger one by one and overdone. Truck 7- Lobsta Rollin: No show. No one notified us when we got our bracelets, so I was looking for that truck and asking around. Truck 8 - Mojo on the Go : They made Pork Tacos topped with BBQ sauce and chipotle slaw. It was tasty, the meat tender and done right, just a lot of sauce I scoped some out with my napkin. Truck 9 - international Classic Cuisine: Served us their Gravlax Bouchée - Norwegian cured salmon with cream cheese, capers & dill, in a a baked puff pastry. Presentation was good they had served it up on a doily, the salmon was incredibly salty, and I found this to be out of place at a PIG OUT fest..??? Truck 10 - Slow Food Truck : 'The Shorty' Braised short beef rib pulled off the bone with grilled queso fresco, topped with fresh local Arugula, crispy shallots, on a potato roll. The meat was so tender Delish. The Queso Fresco , crispy shallots, and Arugula made the sandwich outstanding! The Potato roll worked with it great. Wow! Unexpected the best I tried that day!! I was sad to see them handing out a small portion of their sandwich. I did enjoy the view of the PGA lake with my Sammy :) **MY # 1 Truck of the DAY!!** My other favourite was the Whole Foods stand. They had a Pasteur raised Pig slow roasted pulled Pork BBQ sandwich outta this world Took our Tickets to vote for our favourite custom car and placed them in the car's Box. It was a HOT day and waters were 3$ beer and wine 5$, the sweat was free. This event was a Fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors. They had a Helicopter set up to take pictures in with replica machine guns and ammo..I LOVED This!! There was a raffle for Wounded Warrior donations, and my Man won tickets to the Palm Beach Racetrack, and a bag full of cool "Florida the Gunshine State" tee shirts he wanted + some hot sauce.

This was a great event! Besides having 10 different food trucks there were other vendors providing food and drinks. The star drink vendor of course was Keurig. Their truck was pretty much always packed. Getting down to the food though, I felt like the event was really well organized. Each person received a wrist band that had numbers on them that you would trade in at each food truck. Each food truck had 2 options to choose from and you could try one of the options when you traded in your number. Luckily there were 2 of us so we were able to try everything that the trucks offered. The best thing I tried was actually a meatball that was offered by Whole Foods. It was the perfect blend of flavors with a strong garlic taste. Which I'm a big fan of. If you were lucky to have a VIP ticket, which we were, there was a tent with tables and chairs and alcoholic beverages and sodas for you to enjoy with all the tasty food that was being offered. To end all the good eats, we got some ice cream and an iced Keurig drink for the road. Because of Yelp and our amazing BPB CM Blue, I was able to go to this fantastic event and enjoy some great eats.

A TRUE REVIEW... VIP: Ok so over 60 bucks per person to get in was off the wall. This was including VIP, but the problem with VIP was that it wasn't very VIP. You would have to stand in line to get a 1/3 of a cup of lukewarm beer. (only Heineken or Heineken Light). Not interested in standing in line 3 times to equal one cup of beer. We paid money for this, it wasn't a bread line. Now about that VIP tent itself. There were NO water misters and no fans. So when it is in the 90's and you have no breeze it gets hot. You were actually better off outside the tent, walking around with the common folk, where there was a breeze. Food Trucks: Outside the tent, you have the food trucks. We tried every truck but one. Overall the food was nothing to write home about. We felt the food trucks played it safe and made the food very bland. We didn't have anything that stood out and would make us go on a search to seek out a particular truck outside of this event. A couple of the trucks were so bad that I actually spit out the first bite. Car Show: I hope no one had high expectations of the "car show". This was the saddest excuse for a car show I have ever seen. Overall this could have been a lot better. Lower the prices, create a VIP environment that is true to the definition, or scrap it. Work on making the car show better or scrap it. Make it clear to the food trucks to put out a good product with all the ingredients listed on their menu. Last but not least, its this thing called Recycling. Not one thing at this entire event was recycled. Not a good look...

Who doesn't want to "Pig Out" with delicious food and look at nice cars?! I was here for this event on Sunday and I have to say I am a huge fan! Finding this place was easy and parking was a breeze. When we arrived we waited in line for a bit but soon enough we had our tickets. We were given a bracelet with 10 little tickets attached to it. The tickets were numbered with each food truck and we were given a little list 1-10 to follow. Now ready to try out all the delicious food trucks. Of course we had to stop by the Yelp tent and say hello to Blue and Stephanie! We picked up some yelp fans and off to start the journey. Truck #1: II Fiorentino- Here we tried the Small Potatoes Gnocchetti with Italian bolognese sauce. This reminded me of my mothers fideo with carne molida. Truck #2: Flour Power- The BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich was ok. Not too much flavor but the combination of the coleslaw gave it a bit of flavor. Truck #3: Crazydilla- Here we tried the Cubadilla which is a delicious cuban sandwich it had roasted cuban pork, serrano ham, swiss cheese and pickles served in a toasted organic tortilla. On top it had garlic mustard aoli. I have to say this one was on my top list. It was different and it was delicious. The roasted pork was very tender. Truck #4: Philly Grill- The philly cheese steak has a lot of onions, mushrooms, and peppers. I wish it would of had more meat. The bread was delicious though. Truck #5: Inspir-Asian- This dish had a nice presentation. It was beautiful. Especially with the flower. Very colorful. The food was great as well. Full of flavor. Truck #6: Burger Shack- This food truck took a long time to get us a sample of our burger and it was a bit to well done for my taste. I love the combination of smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, and chipotle mayo. However, they did skip the guacamole on my burger. Truck #7: Lobsta Rollin- No show. Would have loved to try the New England Lobster Roll. Truck #8: Mojo on the Go- Pork Taco was a little too saucy with me. It was topped with BBQ and Coleslaw. Truck #9: International Classic Cuisine- This was very different to try. I have never had this before. The Gravlax Bouchee. It was salmon with cream cheese, capers and dill in a baked puff pastry. I am happy I tried it. I actually liked it. Truck #10: Slow Food Truck- This was the last food truck and I am so sad I did not get a chance to take a picture of it. It was so good that I ate it really fast. It was called "The Shorty" braised short beef rib pulled off the bone with grilled queso fresco (I have this all the time- so yummy) topped with fresh arugula and crispy shallots on a Martin's potato roll. I loved that there was plenty of seating to enjoy our food. They tried to have the tables under the shade which helped out a lot since it was very hot. There were a few tents with beverages. You could purchase waters ($3), Beer ($5) and not sure about the others. I had a Heineken and it was very refreshing. Our final stop was the to vote for the best custom car show. The cars were amazing. Very beautiful cars. This event was a fun event to attend. I am glad I was able to "Pig Out" and have a great time. Thank you!!

This was my first real Food Truck experience and I was in heavennn!!! Imagine, 10 Food Trucks serving their best foods in appetizer portions. At first you don't think it's enough but after 10 serving you realize how stuff you actually are. You were given a wrist band with 10 numbers. Each truck had their assign number. This is how they kept tabs. Lines were pretty quick. Majority of the time the food was already prepared and served so they just handed it to you. Sitting area was a bit limited but it wasn't bad. You were able to find a seat majority of time with out a problem. They also had a nice car show going. They even had other tents giving away free samples of their products. For a Sunday event I had a blast and would definitely go back! Here is my Pig Out List- Truck #1- II Florentino Small Potatoes Gnocchetti in traditional Bolognese Sauce, simply awesome. It's like a soft potatoe paste in this perfect tomatoeish sauce. Truck #2- Flour Power. They served a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with coleslaw. Now this was a creative combination. If the pork had a bit more flavor this combination could have been awesome. It was pleasant, nothing fancy. Truck #3- Crazydilla, served the Cubadilla which was a cuban sandwich in a organic tortilla. It had this mustard aiolo on top of the sandwich was AH-MAZING. Everything about the Cubadilla was bursting in flavors. I wish I could have gotten a regular size as I was left craving more. I'm definitely following them on Instagram to see if I keep up with their locations. (My favorite of the trucks) Truck #4-Philly Grill, served the Philly Cheese Steak. It was ok, I've never had a philly cheese steak sandwich that shows me what the fuss is all about. This one had too many onions. I say more meat, less veggies. Truck #5 Inspir-Asian, serve the Chicken which is GLUTEN-FREE, white rice and broccoli. The presentation of the plate was cute. Very well set up. The food tasted delicious. I was told the orchid on the plate was edible so you know what I did.... Truck #6- Burger Shack, this truck was swamped with people. Wait time was about 45-1hr. Burger was too over done, I didn't get bacon, guacamole, jalapeno or chipotle mayo but I still sampled it. Nothing big, typical burger, I would give it a second chance. Truck #7 Lobsta Rollin- No show Truck #8 Mojo On The Go- Soft Tacos with BBQ and Coleslaw. Honestly I love coleslaw, I could have done without the extra BBQ sauce but these were yummy. Truck #9 International Classic Cuisine, served Gravlax Bouchee, this was interesting. It was like cream cheese with dill and cured Salmon in a pastry. Not my kind of combination but it wasn't too shabby. Truck #10 Slow Food Truck by this time I was STUFFED by this place had some good ribs. It was a great way to seal the deal.

These food truck events are absolutely delicious. I won't go through all the trucks but I will tell you my favorites. 1 Lobster rollin delishious, lobster grilled cheese is addicting 2. Da burger shack. Got the blue cheese burger... omg so good, all angus beef. again addicting. 3 mojo on the go, delicious pork taco but a little sloppy to eat. 4, Flower power, had the pulled pork sandwhich was good, but good be better if they toasted the buns. Flower power also has kid friendly chicken tenders for picky kid eaters. Would love to see Miami press next time Miami press is a delicious high end press sandwhich in differnet types ( pork beef etc) and absolutely addicting. Da burger shack also has kid friendly high end chicken breast tenders for the kiddies. If yu have a chance to catch these trucks at other events you should.
